Dr. J and Larry Bird
This was taken from Dave Goldstein's SIXER Seats. Boy did we have a BALL THAT season!
Students Mourn their Murdered Classmates
Night photo of students on Camden, NJ waterfront honoring dead classmates killed by gang violence over past year.
Sweet dolphin gives me a smile off Cape May, NJ. A good reason to be so careful with plastic and keep it out of the environment!
Bass River Piling
Gnarly old sea wall piling rots away on Bass River in New Jersey.
Cast Shadows of Redbud tree.
Shadows cast of tree on bedroom wall.
Bald Eagle Delaware Bay
A grown male Bald Eagle scans the Delaware Bay for a nice dinner for his family. He has chosen a strong new steel navigation light tower that is just about perfect for the stormy Delaware Bay.
Wetlands Reeds in Late Evening Light
Phragmites australis (common wetlands reeds) photographed at the Bass River in New Jersey.
Stella Acrtoss the Street
Handsome young American Labrador mix looks through screen door outside across street at rain.
Street Photographer Manhattan
I met this Street Portraitist in front of B&H Photo in Manhattan. He used a Polaroid back on his Speed Graphic 4X5" camera to make instant portraits of folks around B&H Photo. He was gracious enough to pose for me and I made this portrait of him. I cut my teeth with an old Crown Graphic camera similar to the one he is using.
Autumn Run Through South New Jersey
Orange 1969 Porsche 911 drives through country road in Autumn.
Sengekontacket Pond Residence
This little piece of Heaven is the pond in Martha's Vineyard where JAWS was filmed. Across the pond is Spike Lee's crib. We had a lovely week there a few years ago.
Two Air Cooled Legends
USAF training airplane from WWII and PORSCHE 911 sit in grass airstrip ready for action.
My Self-Portrait reflected in Dorade vent aboard Crelock 37 OMEGA sailing south toward Fort Lauderdale, FL off Cape Canaveral, FL.
Many of these rare, early long wheel base 1969 911S cars were destroyed racing. Only 1492 '69S models came out of Stuttgart. With only a 2 liter displacement, around two thousand pounds curb weight, and almost 200 HP, this is one of the most fun 911s to drive.
This is from my early Ansel Adams ZONE System studies. The contrast curves you see in today's digital photo's histogram were a lot harder to control with film. Expose for the highlights and develop for the shadows was our mantra. One could take this protocol to a level of insanity- Unless, one was Ansel Adams. He codified the technique and we all stand on his shoulders.
Alma Ghosts Up Nacote Creek

Breakfast aboard ALMA
Sailboat galley all set for blueberry pancake breakfast
Mike and Gene with Aston Martin DBR1 Race Car
My Great Nephews- If you visit Philly, the Simone Museum is a must-see. It houses a 3/4 BILLION dollar race car collection. It's silly to put a dollar value on some of these retired racers- they are priceless. This Aston is my favorite. Straight Six- Aluminum Body, what a sports car. Of course it's value would destroy any enjoyment in a quick Banzi ride to the coast. It is just too valuable!
3 miles off Atlantic City Winnie scans the horizon for dolphin. Sadly, we lost Winnie at age 15 in March 2014. She was a real diplomat and worked as a service dog visiting nursing homes and cheering the residents. She was also a great athlete and a real Love-Bug. Aren't Shelter Dogs are the very best? RIP Win...
Phil and Grady on bow of ALMA
Another "Great" nephew Grady. This was Grady's first sail. "I know everything about this boat... Uncle Gene told me"! You GO Grady- 'See you offshore soon.
